3326 views

How to conference multiple calls together on your ShoreTel/Mitel desk phone.

Mitel Connect makes it easy to call, transfer, and conference callers on your computer. To join/conference calls from a desk phone, see below.

Conference Calls Method One

  1. Place or answer a call
  2. Press the hold button to place the first call on hold
    • The normally green light next to the first call will turn red and make a sound to let you know they're on hold
  3. Select a second line by pressing the second available line button on the right or left side of the phone display
  4. Enter a the number of the third party and explain to them that you are going to conference in another caller (the first caller)
  5. If you need to make a third call, repeat this process (as long as you have unused line buttons available)
  6. Press the Merge soft button, located along the bottom of the display to conference the calls together

Conference Calls Method Two

  1. Place or answer the first call.
  2. Press your phone's Conference button. This will place the current caller on hold and allow you to initiate another call.
  3. Once your next party is on the line, you will see a message asking if you would like to conference the calls together.
  4. Simply press the soft button under the word Yes.

How many callers can you conference together using method one or two?

It depends on which ShoreTel/Mitel phone model you have and how many available lines. For example, a 480g model has 8 total line buttons. The first is reserved for your direct line. You could join up to seven callers with a 480g. Unless you have speed dials or monitored extensions. For a basic 230 model, you can join up to 2 other parties.

Other Options

Consider using Zoom for video or voice conferencing.
