Reset your Canvas password if you log in with your email address
Overview
In order to help those logging into Canvas with their email address reset their password, there is a Don't know your Password? link on the alternative login page for Canvas (https://elearn.usu.edu/canvas). During this process you may be sent to the USU login page where students, faculty, and staff with A-numbers login to Canvas. If you are sent to that page simply return to the alternative login page at https://elearn.usu.edu/canvas or close the USU Login Page and go on to the next step.

Forgot Password? Form

1. To reset your password being by visiting https://elearn.usu.edu/canvas Click Forgot Password? |

2. Enter the email address you login to Canvas with in the Username text box 3. Click the Request Password button

5. You should be returned to the login page and a confirmation message will be displayed 6. Go to your email service and look for a message from Instructure Canvas with the subject of Forgot Password: Canvas and open the email message

| 2. The email will have a link to help you set your new password. Click the Click here to set a new password link. |  |
Entering A New Password

1. Enter a new password in the New Password textbox 2. Then enter the password again in the Confirm New Password textbox 3. Finally click the Update Password button. At this point you will be redirected to the USU Login page. Return to https://elearn.usu.edu/canvas and you can use your email address and new password to login to Canvas. |
Helpful Hints
- If at anytime you see the USU Login page you can ignore it and close the tab or window. Your primary login page for Canvas is https://elearn.usu.edu/canvas
- The elearn.usu.edu/canvas URL redirects to https://usu.instructure.com/login/canvas
