New Students: Create Your Password and Set up Multifactor Authentication

This article will go over how to reset your strong password which is used to access your USU account as well as log into campus computers. Additionally it gives you information on how to locate the guide for setting up multifactor authentication. 

Disclaimer: If you are new to USU, and need to set up your strong password, visit https://myid.usu.edu. It requires you to know your A-Number and have a personal email or mobile phone designated in your Banner record. If you do not have a personal email or mobile phone, please call the IT Service Desk at 435-797-HELP (4357) or submit a photo ID displaying your full name at https://passwordreset.usu.edu. If you do not know your A-Number, select "I don't know my A-Number."

To reset your password:

Visit myid.usu.edu

1. Select "I don't know my password" or "Reset my password"



2. Enter your A-number and First Name and click Continue. Then an activation message will appear as shown below. Wait 30 minutes, return to myid.usu.edu, and continue at step 3. 

3. After returning to myid.usu.edu, click "I don't know my password" or "Reset my password"



Enter your A-number and First Name and click Continue. Click on "Go To Microsoft Password Reset"




4. Verify your USU username (Anumber@aggies.usu.edu) and enter the Captcha code, if correct select the Email button. A code will be sent to your personal email. If you need to change the email address please contact the IT Service Desk at 435-797-4357.



Check your inbox and enter the code.



5. Create a new password that meets the Password Guidelines.
