New Students: Create Your Password and Set up Multifactor Authentication

This article will go over how to reset your strong password which is used to access your USU account as well as log into campus computers. Additionally it gives you information on how to locate the guide for setting up multifactor authentication. 

Disclaimer: If you are new to USU, and need to set up your strong password, visit https://myid.usu.edu. It requires you to know your A-Number and have a personal email or mobile phone designated in your Banner record. If you do not have a personal email or mobile phone, please call the IT Service Desk at 435-797-HELP (4357) or submit a photo ID displaying your full name at https://passwordreset.usu.edu. If you do not know your A-Number, select "I don't know my A-Number."

To reset your password:

Visit myid.usu.edu

1. Select "I don't know my password" or "Reset my password"



2.Enter your A-number and First Name and click Continue. Then a confirmation message will appear, click "Go to Microsoft Password Reset"
If you do not have access to or don't know what preferred methods are set in Banner you can call the IT Service Desk or use https://passwordreset.usu.edu.



3. Enter your USU username (anumber@aggies.usu.edu) and the characters in the CAPTCHA



4. Select your recovery method and follow the prompts. Note: Email is enabled by default but other methods will not be available until they are added in your account's Authentication Methods



5. Create a new password that meets the Password Guidelines
