Internet Browsers: Clear the Browser Cache

This article explains how to clear different browser's caches.  Clearing a browser's cache may be useful in troubleshooting a variety problems that you may be having with different websites, including USU web pages. For the best access to any USU website or service, we recommend using Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.


                       

Select the browser you are using by clicking on of the icons above


 

Microsoft Edge

  1. Click the 3 dot menu in the upper right corner, choose "Settings" or visit edge://settings/profiles in the Edge browser address bar


  2. Using the 3-bar menu on the left of the Settings title, select "Privacy, search, and services"


  3. Under "Clear Browsing Data", select "Choose what to clear"


  4. Select items and time range to clear, then click "Clear now"


Firefox

Firefox 110 and up

  1. Click the three line hamburger menu then settings


  2. Select Privacy & Security then clear data


  3. Click Clear, then Clear Now (if prompted)

 

Google Chrome

    1. Go to chrome://settings/privacy or click the 3 dot menu -> Settings -> Privacy and Security

    2. In the History panel click "Clear browsing data"


    3. Choose the amount of history you would like to clear, then select "clear data"

 

Safari

  1. On Mac OS X, Select "Safari" from the menu at the top of the screen; select "Clear History..." 

  2. Choose the amount of history to clear and Click "Clear History"
