Network: Connecting Wireless Device With No Web Browser or Display

5023 views

Connect game consoles, routers, wireless printers, etc., to the USU Network.

For all standard wireless devices with a web browser (mobile phones, tablets, laptops, etc.), please register the device to Eduroam for additional security and features.

If your device does not have a standard web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge), You must know the MAC address of the device

  1. Visit netreg.usu.edu

  2. Log in with your Anumber@aggies.usu.edu and USU password

  3. Select REGISTER DEVICE (You will also see a list of your registered devices and may edit, renew, or delete them)
  4. The Hostname is prefilled with your Anumber-x.mypc.usu.edu. You may change the hostname, but it must end in '.mypc.usu.edu' or one of the five domain names you are given.
  5. Enter the Mac Address (How do I find the Mac address?)
  6. Enter a description. This helps to identify your devices when it comes time for registration renewal.
  7. Change the expiration date if desired (the default is 365 days)
  8. You must agree to USU's network policy by checking the box
  9. Click submit, and your device is successfully registered to the USU network
  10. Restart your device to finish connecting

Note: These devices, such as PlayStation, Xbox, Amazon Alexa, printers, etc., cannot be set up on the Eduroam network. They must be connected to USU Guest. Ensure you select USU Guest on your device after registering the MAC address.

Notifications are sent before the device expires with instructions on renewing your device.
