Eduroam: Connecting your ChromeOS device

The eduroam network allows USU students, faculty and staff to seamlessly obtain Internet connectivity at participating institutions around the world. Find available locations with this interactive map.

 

ChromeOS eduroam setup instructions

Follow these steps to configure your device to connect to the eduroam network.

 

1.  In a web browser, visit https://eduroam.usu.edu and follow the link to the Chrome Web Store for the SecureW2 JoinNow MultiOS extension.

 

2.  Click "Add to Chrome" to install the extension in Chrome.

 

 

3.  Go back to your tab with the enrollment portal, and click Sign In.

 

4.  Complete authentication to verify your identity.

 

5.  Click Download to download the configuration information for importing.

 

6. Your device will now get enrolled on the eduroam network.

 

7.  Installer will open a new tab for importing network configuration files.  Switch to this tab.

 

8.  Click Choose File, and select the SecureW2.onc file downloaded previously.

 

9. Please forget the USU-guest network to ensure a stable connection to eduroam.

    1. Sign in to your Chromebook.
    2. At the bottom right, select the time.
    3. Select Settings .
    4. In the "Network" section, select Wi-Fi.
    5. Select Known networks.
    6. Find the USU-guest network, then select More and then Forget.
