This article will walk through the steps of switching to a different account in Google Chrome and transferring Bookmarks and Settings
Switch accounts in Chrome and transfer Bookmarks and Settings
- Click the three dots in the upper right corner
- Select Settings
- Select “Turn Off” to turn off sync
- 4. Select “Turn Off” on the next screen
*Note: Do not select the checkbox to clear bookmarks, history, passwords and more. Doing this will remove the data and won’t move anything over - After clicking “Turn Off” it will open a new tab, close that tab and re-open settings (Steps 1 and 2)
- Select “Turn on sync…”
- Follow the steps to sign in with the Google account you want to switch to
- Once signed in you should get a prompt at the top of the screen, if the previous account listed is correct, select “This was me “ and click Continue
- Another prompt will pop up asking to turn on sync, click “Yes, I’m in”
- Your new account is being synced and the data (Bookmarks, Settings, etc) should show up as they did before
