USU students and employees are eligible to use ESRI Software. At USU, we license ArcGIS Pro via a Named User License or a Concurrent Use License. Below is information about installing and licensing ArcGIS Pro.
Named User License
The is the preferred method to license ArcGIS Pro
- Request an ArcGIS Online account by emailing License@usu.edu from your USU email address
- If eligible, you will receive an email from 'ArcGIS Notifications' with the subject : An invitation to join an ArcGIS Online organization, Utah State University. This email will include a link to download ArcGIS Pro.
- Follow the instructions in the email to install and license the software
Instructors
If you are an instructor that will be using ArcGIS Pro for a class please send a class roster with student names and A#'s to License@usu.edu.

Concurrent Use License
You must be on the campus network or connected to the VPN to use this license.
- Order an ESRI license thru https://software.usu.edu
- Click on Miscellaneous
- Click on ESRI
- Complete fields to submit the order (add to cart and submit)
- Go to https://usu.service-now.com/aggies
- Click Requests (top right)
- Update the fields under 'Filter your requests' (right)
- Status: Open
- Type: Software License
- Date Updated: All Time (may have long load times)
- Sort Order: Leave at default
- Click on the SW order number for your ESRI license
- Click Download Software
- Login to Box if prompted
- Click ArcGIS Pro
- Click ArcGIS Pro 3.0
- Download and install ArcGIS Pro 3.0 (see InstallationNotes in the folder for additional help)
- Open ArcGIS Pro
- Click Configure Licensing (lower left)
- Update fields on the Configure Authorization screen
- Change License Type to 'Concurrent Use License'
- Update License Manager to: ESRI.eng.usu.edu
- Click Add Backup
- Update Backup (Optional): esri4.usu.edu
- Click Refresh
- Check boxes of any product you need to use
- Click OK
- A restart of the program will be required
