Overview
Exciting updates are coming to the favoriting and reporting system! These changes will go live on February 18 and will enhance usability, organization, and accessibility. Below is a summary of the key differences and improvements.
Favoriting System Updates
Accessing Your Favorites
- Your favorites will still be accessible via the My Favorites widget on the homepage.
- The homepage widget will now prioritize displaying your most recently accessed favorites at the top.
- The homepage widget displays a limited number of your favorites, but you can view all favorites by:
- Clicking the 'View All' button on the widget.
- Navigating to the Favorites tab in the header.
Improved Favorite Page Organization
- The favorite page has been redesigned for better organization and filtering.
- New categories added:
- Software
- Dashboards and Reports
- (Existing categories: Knowledge and Services)
- New Features:
- Search Functionality: Search favorites by both title and description.
- Sort By Feature: Allows sorting for easier navigation.
- Unfavoriting Safety: If you unfavorite an item, it will not immediately disappear, allowing for an easy recovery in case of an accidental click.
- Unfavorited items will be removed upon a page reload.
Reporting System Updates
Finding Reports & Dashboards
- Reports and dashboards have been moved into the Service Catalog and are now searchable:
- Using the header search bar.
- Using the homepage search.
- Reports are now organized into Report Collections by unit, department, or college.
- Example:
- Off-Premise Equipment is now under the Controller’s Office Report Collection.
- Data Sharing Agreements is now under the Information Technology Report Collection.
- You can still search using old dashboard names, as meta tags have been implemented to aid in the transition.

Favoriting Reports
- Reports can now be favorited directly from the Reporting Homepage by clicking the heart icon on the associated tile.
- Only report collections available to you will be visible.
- This restriction also applies to individual reports and dashboards within a collection.
New Report Collection Side Menu
- A new side menu system has been implemented for Report Collections.
- This feature categorizes reports and dashboards within a collection for easier navigation.
- The menu remains consistent across pages, ensuring a standardized experience.
- New Features:
- Quick Access: Easily browse all reports within a collection.
- Filtering: Use the filter tool to search for specific reports and dashboards.
- Replaces Old Button Link System: The previous button links at the top of report pages have been replaced with a streamlined menu.
