Connecting through the Virtual Private Network (VPN) provides a secure, remote connection to the university network.
Features & Options
By creating an encrypted stream between your computer and campus, USU's Virtual Private Network (VPN) server provides you with a secure, remote connection to the university network. Authorized users can access the university network from anywhere (home, hotel, conference, etc.) with a secure Internet connection.
For the VPN connection to be established, the system authenticates users with their A# and USU password.
The VPN is a SSL VPN. The VPN service requires a client to be installed before it can be used. You can get the client at https://sslvpn.usu.edu and for mobile devices you can get the client from your devices app store.
Install instructions
- Windows 10
- Apple macOS
- Linux
- Mobile Devices (iOS, iPhone and iPad, Android)
- Google Chromebook
Devices that don't support SSL VPNs
Window RT and Windows mobile OS do not offer full support of SSL VPNs. Windows 10 Mobile OS users can try the Cisco Anyconnect application from the Windows Mobile app store.
