USU's Virtual Private Network (VPN) server creates an encrypted stream between your computer and campus to provide you with a secure, remote connection to the university network. Authorized users can access the university network from anywhere (home, hotel, conference, etc.) with a secure Internet connection.
Windows RT devices are not supported with the Cisco AnyConnect client due to the manufacture not supporting SSL VPNs.
Download and Install the Cisco Anyconnect VPN Client
- Go to https://sslvpn.usu.edu
- Login with your A# and USU Password
- Click on link Windows Desktop to download the client
- Check your downloads file for the installer and launch it by double clicking it (file name/version info of picture may differ from current version)
- Accept the defaults in the installer.
- After the installers finishes, launch the Cisco AnyConnect Client by going to Start >> All Programs >> Cisco >> Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client
Note: You can also search for Cisco AnyConnect in the search bar
- In the text box under Ready to connect, type sslvpn.usu.edu and click on Connect
- Enter your A# for the Username and your USU Password for the Password and click on OK
Connect to the VPN
- Launch Cisco AnyConnect Client or by clicking on the Cisco AnyConnect client icon in the System Tray in the lower right section of the desktop
- Click on Connect.
- Enter your A# for the Username and your USU Password for the Password and click on OK.
Disconnect from the VPN
- Launch Cisco AnyConnect Client or by clicking on the Cisco AnyConnect client icon in the System Tray in the lower right section of the desktop
- Click on Disconnect.
