Linux eduroam setup instructions

Prerequisites

The installer requires a graphical interface.  It will work with most desktop environments, but requires the xwininfo executable if you are not running Gnome (xwininfo is in the 'x11-utils' package on Debian/Ubuntu based distros or the 'xwininfo' package on Red Hat/Fedora based distros).

Follow these steps to configure your device to connect to the eduroam network.

1.  In a web browser, visit https://eduroam.usu.eduand click "Agree and continue"

2.  Your download should begin automatically

3.  Once the download has completed, run the application from a terminal (no root permissions required)

4.  A browser window will launch for authentication

5.  If you are in range of the eduroam network, you will be connected automatically.  The enrollment process is now complete.

6. Please forget the USU-guest network to ensure a stable connection to eduroam
